Program Details

Buddha Babies is a play-centered learning classroom where young children can explore and grow. We offer a gentle transition into a classroom setting by offering part-time care, small class size, and respectful, compassionate communication. In our peaceful and playful space, rich with imaginative materials, the teachers support the children’s:

  • curiosity and delight in the world;
  • love for learning and a sense of their own capacity to learn;
  • language development;
  • social and emotional skills as they learn about friendship, communication, navigating their own emotions and those of others, and more;
  • problem solving skills; and
  • sense of self and imagination.

The program is directed and taught by a teacher with extensive experience with young children, a graduate degree in early childhood education, and a strong mindfulness practice. Her graduate work focused on the importance of play and imagination in children’s early development and the program is designed based on her studies and experience. Learn more here.

IMG_0018“When I care more about what the children say and think than about my own conventionality, those are the times I sense the beat and hear the unspoken lines. As I try to measure my responses to the forms and ideas of this emerging society that inhabits my classroom, it becomes necessary to grasp its point of view: I pretend, therefore I am. I pretend, therefore I know.”

-Vivian Gussin Paley, kindergarten teacher and author
